Paul in Mexico!

Last night (Thursday 10th May) Paul McCartney performed a special free concert in Zocalo in Mexico City. An estimated 250,000 filled the square and lined the surrounding streets. The show was the closing date of his South American 'On the Run' tour, his last show before the Queen's Diamond Jubilee show next month.

The show lasted almost three hours and included hits such as 'Drive My Car', 'Hey Jude', 'Let It Be', 'Live and Let Die' and 'Blackbird'.

During the show he was joined on stage by a traditional Mexican Mariachi band for a version of 'Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da'.

Before the show Paul was honoured by the Mayor of the City.

Paul played a total of three shows in Mexico over the last week including a sell out show at the legendary Azteca Stadium to 80,000 people. All week fans camped outside his hotel and lined the neighbouring streets.

Speaking about the free show Paul said:
It was quite emotional and exciting that people who might not be able to afford to come to our shows could come to this. It was like Beatlemania all over again. When you visit places that you don'™t often come to, like South America, they'™ve been saving up the excitement so when you get there they let it all go. When you are in a band you hope people will like what you do and when they like it as much as they did here it's quite a buzz.

Pablo en México!




Anoche (jueves 10 de mayo), Paul McCartney realizó un concierto especial gratuito en el Zócalo de la Ciudad de México. Se estima que 250.000 llenaban la plaza y se alinearon en las calles de los alrededores. El espectáculo fue la fecha de cierre de su América del Sur "On the Run 'de gira, su último show antes del jubileo de diamante de la Reina el próximo mes.

El show duró casi tres horas e incluyó éxitos como "Drive My Car ',' Hey Jude ',' Let It Be", "Live and Let Die" y "Blackbird".

Durante el espectáculo se le unió en el escenario por una banda de mariachi tradicional mexicano para una versión de "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da '.

Antes de la presentación de Pablo fue honrado por el alcalde de la ciudad.

Pablo jugó un total de tres conciertos en México durante la última semana que incluye un espectáculo se venden en el mítico Estadio Azteca a 80.000 personas. Todos los fans de semana acamparon fuera de su hotel y se alinearon en las calles aledañas.

Hablando de la libertad de Pablo espectáculo, dijo:
Fue muy emotivo y emocionante que la gente que podría no ser capaz de permitirse el lujo de venir a nuestros shows podrían llegar a esto. Era como la Beatlemanía todo de nuevo. Cuando usted visita los lugares que usted donde  vienen a menudo a, al igual que América del Sur.

 He estado ahorrando el entusiasmo por lo que cuando lleguen allí, dejar que todo vaya. Cuando estás en una banda que espero que la gente le va a gustar lo que haces y cuando les guste tanto como lo hicieron aquí es bastante revuelo.
